Blouse Makeover: Styling two funky thrift store pieces

A couple of months ago I found some pretty heinous blouses at Bargain World. They stood out brightly on the clothes rack, and at a thrift store, that's saying a lot. I purchased them on a whim and ended up really liking both pieces.

The tiger stripe pattern really called out to me from among the other cheesy animal print items. It's a Bob Mackie piece, and actually comparatively subdued for someone whose website sparkles.

The 1980s blouse also called out to me...like a screeching green and gold parrot.

Here's how I styled them...

Bob Mackie--nothing a pair of skinny jeans and suede boots won't fix.

Add one gaudy rhinestone belt, one pair jeans, some Colin Stuart red heels, and giant earrings ($5 at Cost Plus World Market).

The buttons up the back are the best part!
